Cold puts a great many good plans off, and Constance is the answer to that. It is the coat you reach for when the sky is grey and you would rather stay in, and the reason you end up going anyway. Warm, hooded, deep enough in the pocket for keys and a phone. Once it arrives you will wonder how you managed the last few winters without it.

WHY THE CONSTANCE?

Lined and properly warm:Soft all the way through, so there is no cold shock when you first put it on and no shivering while you wait for it to warm up. On the sharpest mornings it does the job of a coat and a jumper together.

The hood earns its keep:Up when the wind turns or the drizzle starts, down when you are indoors. No scarf to lose and no hat to flatten your hair before you have arrived anywhere.

Pockets you will actually use:Deep enough at the side for keys, a phone and a pair of gloves, which is more than most coats manage. Hands go in and stay warm on the walk home.

Shaped, not shapeless:It follows the body rather than hanging like a sleeping bag, so you look like yourself in it. Plenty of room to move, none of the bulk you expect from something this warm.

Black Grey and Dark Blue for the quiet days, Red and Beige Orange for a bit of lift, and Flower Beige if you fancy a pattern against a grey January. It runs true, so take your usual size or go up if you like room for a thick jumper.
